My Sweet Launa Virtue

While reading back through my blog, I realize most of Launa's stories are about her shenanigans so I thought I'd share some of her sweet and funny moments (and this is basically her scrapbook and I want to be able to include some nice things)...

She is learning to talk so much and says and does the funniest things. Below is a small list:

-At Walmart she told the greeter to "Have a good day".

-After Mark put her to bed she pointed to him and told me "Daddy mean".

-She loves Dora and when it ends she finds me and asks "What happened to Dora?"

-Her favorite breakfast is hot cocoa and toast and every morning she sings and dances to her "cocoa toast" song.

-Last night, she was getting ready for bed and was making beds for her toys and saying, "Jack bed, baby bed..." and then she pulled another pillow over and told me "Mommy bed" and smiled at me (I couldn't resist, I climbed in bed and snuggled her).

-At night, she has to find everyone in the house to get a good night kiss and tell them "night, night".

-She protects all the other little Mollotte grandkids from Duke, the giant chocolate lab. She swings and tells him "No, Duke! Stay Back!"

-In the morning if I don't get up, she opens the doors and yells "Here Kitty, Kitty" and lets the cats in the camper. I get up in a hurry. :)

-When she's feeling sweet she gives me a big hug, plays with my hair, and tells me over and over again, "Hi, Mommy."

-She is really daring and begs me to take her for rides on the 4-wheeler. While we're driving she yells "Wow! Wow!"

-The other day she was trying to tell me what she wanted and I couldn't understand, so put her hands over her eyes and looked at me like, come on!

-When the cows moo she says "Cow say moo. Cow hungy".

-She is really attached to her silky and has to know where it is at all times. She'll ask me "where sicky", "I want my sickies".

Paybacks

As a child, I was quite a wanderer. I got lost at malls, DisneyLand, ballgames, etc. I distinctly remember running through department stores and hiding in between all the clothes so my Mom couldn't find me, and getting spanked for it. Today I decided to venture out and do some Christmas shopping by myself with Launa. I was well prepared (container of M&Ms for bribery, her "Bambi" toy, her purse so she didn't ransack mine - you get the picture). I spent most of the time bribing her with candy and chasing her while she ran and laughed. Fianlly, I was checking out. She was within sight and I was saying "Launa, come get your candy" while I was signing and getting my purchase. I turned around and she was gone. I spent the next five minutes running through the store looking for her. I finally found an older lady who told me Launa had run out through the clothes, handed the lady her reindeer and then grabbed her hand. Launa laughed when I finally found her and tried to run again. I'm sure my Mom is reading this blissfully from her computer. :)

Help!

I know in my last post I was tickled pink by the lovies Launa was giving me, but this child is almost two and isn't even close to sleeping through the night on a regular basis! She isn't in a crib anymore, can climb out of basically everything and can open doors... so I'm looking for advice. She wakes up in the middle of the night in absolute crazy mode (screaming, scratching and flailing around). Someone just tell me that eventually this gets better (or refer me to a doctor willing to prescribe sedatives)!

FYI... the sedatives were a joke just in case anyone was getting concerned.

Cabo

We spent the last week in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with all the adults in Mark's family (except Lindsy's new husband, Anthony who was missed) and it was really awesome! We stayed in an all inclusive resort right on the beach and spent most of the time on the beach. Even Mark got tumbled around in the waves like he was in a washing machine! He jet skiied in the ocean and went deep sea fishing and I went on an outdoor adventure with repelling, 9 zip lines, and rock climbing -- it was awesome (minus the uncomfortable harness)!

We snorkeled on Lover's Beach for awhile until the tide came up, I got tossed into a rock and battered so I resigned to the beach with a magazine and Mark ran over to the beach you're not supposed to swim in because the waves are too big and jumped right in (surprise -- there's a reason I double checked on his life insurance before we went)!

Jodi was brave enough to watch Launa for us. I think she slept in Hunter's room with her and Hunter was sufficiently exhausted by the time the week was over! Launa was asleep when we picked her up so when she woke up in the morning she sat up and said "Hi, Mommy!" She gave me big lovies all day long so it was nice to come home. :)
